I pride myself on teaching a realistic, honest and evidence-based course, from the unique perspective of being a trained doula. I am part of the local Maternity Voices Partnership, which works closely with the local hospitals, and I regularly update my knowledge of working practices to ensure you are well informed about what to expect from your maternity unit.
I don’t just focus on Hypnobirthing. I know that knowing your rights in pregnancy and birth are paramount in achieving a positive birth, where you feel like you were in control. I teach hypnobirthing skills alongside evidence-based information about interventions, instrumental birth, induction and c-sections so that you can go into the birth room with confidence. Our local c-section rate is over 30% so it is more vital than ever to have the tools to navigate this system.
I had two very different births - one lengthy induction in hospital and one beautiful home birth - so I understand better than many the different faces of birth.

‘Surf Your Birth’ full antenatal course
Are you worried about birth and life with a newborn? My courses will help to dispel any myths and concerns you may have. My course contains only evidence-based, impartial, no judgement information to help you to birth YOUR WAY. And because it is a private course I can completely tailor it to you.
Our antenatal classes usually cover:
- Debrief of any previous births
- Physiology of birth (hormones, how birth works)
- Hypnobirthing tools
- Your birth plan and rights (writing a plan, your right to say no)
- Comfort measures (pain relief, distraction techniques, relaxation, fear tension release cycle)
- How to nail your birth space (lighting, birth bag, atmosphere)
- Interventions (including induction, Caesarian section, instrumental delivery)
- Understanding the labour process (step by step, inc placenta delivery)
- Tips for birth partners
- Meeting your baby (skin to skin, optimal cord clamping, the golden hour)
- PLUS what you need to know to get breastfeeding off to a good start

Birth Power Planning Sessions
A one-off session dedicated to planning your birth. Think of it like a ‘power hour’ of bossing your birth! Perfect for those who have already committed to antenatal elsewhere, or those who have given birth before, or those with more complex needs or concerns. This is a chance to drill down on specific areas of your birth plan, particular questions or help putting it all together. These can also act as add-on sessions for those who have completed my antenatal classes but wish to discuss anything in more depth at a discounted rate.
